Project Engineer

Description:

The successful candidate will provide technical and sales assistance to energy efficiency and renewable energy equipment contractors seeking to develop Connecticut “C-PACE ready” projects in an accelerated timeframe.

 

The goal is to assist selected contractors develop a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of C-PACE financing. The methodology will be collaborative “hands-on-learning-by-doing”.

 

This new Project Accelerator Service will be subsidized by the CT Green Bank and provided by SRS to each participating contractor free of charge. The service is limited to the first 5 projects each contractor has approved for C-PACE financing.

 

Assistance may include:

      • Identification of potential C-PACE opportunities from the contractor’s existing customer database
      • Screen opportunities using the SRS PACEcheck™ Prequalification Report
      • Participate in a preliminary meeting with the building owner
      • Assist contractors to better understand the principals and tasks associated with the development of a building’s baseline energy use and cost
      • Selection of the optimal mix of energy efficiency and renewable energy building upgrades
      • Understanding the value of the Project Scenario Report (PSR)
      • Review project economics and cash flow projections with the contractor
      • Project scenario optimization
      • Project Finance Report (PFR) development
      • Projected energy savings evaluation
      • Savings-to-investment ratio evaluation
      • Mortgage holder consent assistance to building owner
      • Provide closing support as needed to capital provider
      • Preparation of commissioning (Cx) and measurement and verification (M&V) plans
      • Cx site visit and final report preparation
      • Techniques for developing new renewable energy clients.

 

Skills required:

The position requires a skilled engineer with good interpersonal skills. The work will be conducted in the office of a contractor, and will require a collaborative approach.  The service is offered at no cost to the contractors selected.  A solid foundation in the use of SRS tools and support services is highly desirable but not required.

 

Requirements:

Required experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
      • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy systems, and determining energy savings

 

Preferred experience would include some or all of the following:

      • Professional Engineer license
      • ASHRAE Level I, II or III audit experience
      • An understanding of C-PACE financing
      • An understanding of building simulation models such as EnergyPlus, eQuest, Trane’s Trace 700, or Carrier’s HAP.

 

Travel:

The position is expected to involve extensive travel within the state of Connecticut.

 

Reporting:

The position reports to the SRS Director of Engineering.

 

Compensation: Negotiable but will include: Salary plus bonus and stock options and depending on demonstrated experience and reference checks.

Web Software Developer

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Web Software Developer. The position, reports to software architect, will primarily works on customer facing applications and to integrate with other backend technologies, to support our rapid growing commercial PACE business.

 

We don’t expect the candidate to know everything, but the ideal candidate should be a fast learner and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities:

      • Software design, development, debug, deployment and documentation
      • Browser compatibility testing
      • Consume variety of Web APIs

 

Required Skills:

      • Minimum two years of Web development experience
      • Passionate and creative problem solver
      • Strong PHP and RDBMS experience
      • Well-versed in CSS, HTML, AJAX, and JavaScript
      • Familiar with event-driven programming

 

Preferred skills:

      • Linux server familiarity
      • AngularJS, Bootstrap and Shell scripting
      • NodeJS, with Angular
      • Embraced open source development
      • Web related security best practices
      • Server sided web services
      • PostgreSQL
      • Strong organizational and time management skills.
      • Collaborate with our offshore and outsource development resources
